Vi Launches 5G Services in Mumbai With These Plans , Urdu Wirsa

Vodafone Idea (Vi) has launched its 5G services in Mumbai. The telco is also offering unlimited 5G on select prepaid plans as an introductory offer. Mumbai is now among the few cities in India with 5G coverage from all telecom operators in the country, viz Airtel, Jio, and Vi.

Vi 5G Now Available in Mumbai

Vi has deployed its 5G services all across Mumbai. The company is using Non-Standalone (NSA) technology by harnessing some part of its 4G spectrum and existing tower infrastructure. This helps in wider signal distribution with minimal setup of additional new towers and transmitters.

Initial trials of Vi 5G in Mumbai have delivered speeds of up to 243Mbps. These are expected to improve as the telco expands its 5G coverage in the city further. Vi is using equipment from Nokia with AI-based Self Organizing Networks (SON) system to optimise network performance.

Vi is currently bundling unlimited 5G data to all subscribers on select plans above Rs 299. These packs offer 4G data starting from 1GB/day, unlimited 5G, 100 daily SMS, and unlimited calling. Here’s a list of all Vi recharges with 5G access:

Vi 5G Monthly Plans: 28 Days Validity

Vi 5G Plans: 56 Days Validity

Vi 5G Plans: 84 Days Validity

Vi 5G Annual Plans: 365 Days Validity

Vi is also bundling unlimited 5G on all postpaid plans.

Note that these plans are only for Vi’s Mumbai circle. If you live in some other city, the price could vary. We recommend checking the official Vi app or website before proceeding with a new recharge.

Vi has also expressed its interest in nationwide 5G deployment in India. However, the company has not shared a rollout schedule. Vi has planned an investment of Rs 50,000 crores to expand its network coverage in the country over the next three years.
