After braving the first quarter of 2025, we find ourselves in the third week of April. Nevertheless, this hasn’t deterred brands from launching smartphones in large numbers. As a result, the upcoming week is filled with sought-after options, including the return of a familiar brand after many, many years of hiatus. What are you waiting for? Read this article to find out.
Acer Acerone Liquid S162E4 and Acerone Liquid S272E4
After a long absence from the Indian smartphone market, Acer will return on 15 April with two new phones: the Acerone Liquid S162E4 and Acerone Liquid S272E4. They were meant to be released on 25 March but were delayed for unknown reasons. Consequently, it has already been revealed that they are budget-friendly 4G smartphones.
As per the listing, the Acerone Liquid S162E4 is powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 SoC. It features a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The 16-megapixel primary camera heads the optics department alongside its sidekick, a 0.08-megapixel sensor.
On the other hand, the Acerone Liquid S272E4 is likely to be powered by the same chipset with minor adjustments. Its display measures 6.7 inches diagonally. It comprises a 20-megapixel main camera with a 0.3-megapixel secondary sensor.
Both phones will be sold on Amazon.
Redmi A5
On the same day, 15 April, Xiaomi will debut the Redmi A5. It will be the latest edition of the Redmi A4, which was launched last year to democratise the 5G network among all Indians. As per the brand, this new generation will come with the segment’s biggest and smoothest display in the sub-Rs 10,000 market. A giant 5,200 mAh battery will fuel this handset. It will flaunt three new colours: Jaisalmer Gold, Pondicherry Blue, and Just Black.
Since it has already been launched globally, we know that the Unisoc T7250 Processor powers this smartphone. It features 4GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. It has a 32-megapixel rear camera. Moreover, an 18W charger will come with the phone in its box.
Samsung Galaxy M56
Samsung will launch the Galaxy M56 for Indian buyers on April 17. It will succeed last year’s Galaxy M55. Compared to its predecessor, it will have slimmer dimensions, measuring 7.2mm in thickness. As per the marketing materials, the phone will flaunt a stacked camera module with a 2MP macro, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 50MP primary with OIS. It will have a Super AMOLED+ screen with 36% slimmer bezels than its predecessor. Moreover, it will be 33% brighter.
The folks at XpertPick spotted the Galaxy M56 on the Geekbench listing, revealing that the Exynos 1480 chipset will power it instead of the much powerful Exynos 1580 SoC. The listing highlighted that this phone scored 1,153 in single-core and 3,456 in multi-core. Since the yesteryear’s Galaxy M55 was launched with a starting price of Rs 26,999, we can assume that the Galaxy M56 will also be priced below Rs 30,000.
Infinix Note 50s 5G+
On 18 April, Infinix will expand its Note 50 lineup with the Note 50s 5G+. There is not much information available about this smartphone right now. But as far as we know, it will be the slimmest phone with a 144Hz AMOLED curved display in its price range.
According to Infinix’s Flipkart Live page, it will come with a 6.78-inch 3D curved AMOLED screen. Its display will use a 10-bit panel, supporting 2,340Hz PWM Dimming and 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut.
The in-display fingerprint scanner will be embedded in the screen with the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top.
The brand has also integrated Energising scent tech into one specific model’s vegan leather back panel. Once we know more about the Infinix Note 50s 5G+, we will update you on Mysmartprice.
Motorola Edge 60 Stylus
Motorola will bring the Edge 60 Stylus to the Indian market on 17 April. It is expected to replace the Moto G Stylus, which was launched globally in 2024. Thanks to the reputed leakers Evan Blass (@evleaks) and Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd), we have learned that the phone may come in Purple and Dark Blue colour variants. Its overall design resembles the Moto G Stylus.
This smartphone is said to rock a 6.7-inch pOLED screen with a Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Regarding the performance department, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset is expected to handle its operation. The camera module may feature a 50MP primary and a 13MP ultrawide, with a 32MP front camera. The battery could remain around 5000mAh in capacity.
